This course is for students, postdocs, and staff who want to learn the fundamentals of light microscopy. Through a combination of theory and hands-on practice, you will explore image formation, optical resolution limits, key microscope components, and much more.
You will gain practical experience in acquiring images using various microscopy techniques, including transmitted light microscopy, differential interference contrast (DIC), phase contrast, fluorescence widefield and confocal imaging.
The final part of the course focuses on image processing and analysis, teaching you how to properly process and analyze images using specialized software.
