Join us for the upcoming session of the Life after PhD event series. This time, we are excited to welcome Oldřich Hudeček, a science communicator from IOCB (Prague).
Oldřich Hudeček graduated in organic chemistry at the University of Science and Technology and continued his studies during his PhD under dual supervision - cotutelle, partly at his alma mater and partly at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon. He was interested in organic synthesis and supramolecular chemistry. Before the end of his PhD, he joined the newly established research group of Chemical Biology of Nucleic Acids at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, IOCB Prague, led by Dr. Hana Macíčková Cahová. He eventually spent five years in this group as a postdoctoral fellow. As part of his search for a new job, he completed a year-and-a-half-long internship at i&i Prague, a center for biotechnological innovation and investment, as a project manager. Since 2021, he has been working as a science communicator in the Communications Office at IOCB led by Barbora Fričová.

During his talk at the Life After PhD event, Oldřich will mention important milestones of his journey to the current job, and will not forget to mention the missteps and wrong decisions, without which it is perhaps not possible to move on.
